Campaign Story

My name is Onyebueke Justin Chimdiebube, and I’m a graduate of Marine Engineering from the Maritime Academy of Nigeria, where I earned an upper credit. After graduation, like so many others, I struggled to find employment. It was tough, and the job market didn’t offer much opportunity. But I didn’t give up. In search of a better future, I joined my junior brother in his wristwatch and jewelry business.   Since 2021, I’ve been exploring different business ventures, all with the goal of saving enough to start something of my own. I’ve worked hard, sacrificed, and faced many challenges along the way. But one thing remained constant: my dream of owning my own business and creating something that would not only be fulfilling but also bring value to others.   In the midst of all this, my brother recently got married, and while I continue to sell online to avoid any tensions at the shop, I’ve had a vision for the future. I knew that to stand out in the jewelry business, I needed to be able to offer something unique — and that’s when I set my sights on an engraving machine.   Last month, I finally purchased the engraving machine of my dreams. It’s an investment I’ve been saving for, and it has the potential to revolutionize my jewelry business. I can now engrave names, messages, and dates on jewelry, creating personalized pieces that people will treasure forever.    But here’s the problem: the machine has arrived in Nigeria, and while it’s waiting for me to clear it, I don’t have the funds to pay the 400,000 Naira required to get it out of the port. The bad market conditions and slow sales have made it even harder for me to move forward. I’m not asking for help to rent a shop — I just want to be able to work from home and start my journey toward independence, at least until I can afford my own space.   I spent a total of 3 million Naira purchasing this machine, which has left me with nothing left to cover the clearing fees. As of now, I find myself back at my family’s rented home, having sold off most of my properties and personal belongings to fund this dream. But I don’t mind — because I believe in the potential of this machine. It will allow me to create something that’s not just about selling jewelry but about creating lasting memories for people.   I sell luxury watches and jewelry, but lately, business has been tough, and customers have been few. However, I know that once I can access this machine and begin offering customized, personalized pieces, I’ll be able to offer something truly special that people will want to buy.   What I’m Asking For: I’m humbly asking for help to clear my engraving machine. The 400,000 Naira will get me one step closer to bringing my vision to life. It will allow me to start engraving customized jewelry from home and slowly build my business until I can afford my own store.   How Your Support Will Help: Your contribution will directly fund the clearance of the engraving machine, which will enable me to start offering custom, personalized jewelry. This is not just a business to me — it’s a chance to build something meaningful, to make people’s special moments even more memorable, and to rise above the challenges I’ve faced.   I know asking for help isn’t easy, and I’m not one to usually reach out in this way, but I believe in what I’m doing and the difference it can make. Every contribution, no matter how small, will help me turn my dream into a reality.   Thank you for your time, support, and belief in me. Together, we can cre

toate something special.
